November 14, 2016
My poinsettias tell me the nights are getting longer than the days with their gentle turn to red. If you’ve been watching my blog you know I kept these from a special occasion last year before Christmas. I kept them inside through last winter, pinched them back and planted them in the spring, then repotted them and brought them back inside this fall for Christmas.
Each step seems like a simple thing, but it takes time and even the smallest difficulty can feel like a hurdle when you have a million other things going on. Yet, there is a beauty that reaches beyond the bloom, a depth of connection when your hands have dug the earth for their roots. I’m eager to see them in full red at Christmas. I will try to remember to post a picture. I’m not forgetting Thanksgiving, we just did our winterize this weekend, so the cut back and movement of plants was part of the activity. Besides, this Thanksgiving is practically Christmas with the release of The Operator from one of my favorite authors.
Only two more Sudoku puzzles after this one. You may want to start unscrambling them to be ready for release week, November 22nd. You will get the last number the day before the release of The Operator. Use it and the other Sudoku puzzles to find The Operator. Peri Reed has been in hiding, and everyone is looking for her—the good guys and the bad.
