As a new crafter of words, writing is still a joy–not a job–even when it is work. I have a day job with deadlines and negotiations that are necessary in any profession and difficult across many careers. However, going into this next year, I wanted to thank authors for dealing with contracts, marketing, publishers, fan mail, hate mail, and can-you-write-it-faster requests to translate your job into stories for us. Magic manifests from mundane in your hands.
Every life is a rollercoaster; so, whether you’re on the upswing where the sky’s the limit, at the drop-off height waiting with anticipation for the next phase, or somewhere in a turn feeling sick to your stomach remember to keep your eyes open, throw your hands in the air, and scream because your voice tells this rollercoaster ride like no one else can.
You can author a book (and thank you for that), but you become a writer . . . and becoming takes a lifetime.
Thank you for managing the mundane mayhem of an author to keep becoming.
